The most popular leisure time activity.

What is the preferred leisure time activity?

The answer might surprise you.

The most common activity is not eating, not socializing with friends, participating in sports, or relaxing with the family.

Our main leisure activity is participating in experiences that we know are not real.

When we are free to do whatever we want, we dive into the sea of the imagination, into the worlds created by others, such as books, films, video games, television, or into the worlds we ourselves create.

As when day-dreaming and fantasizing.

While citizens of some countries might watch less television, research finds a global fascination with the unreal.

Surely, we would be better off doing more practical things, eating and cooking, developing relationships with the surrounding people, building homes and teaching our children.

Instead, two year olds pretend to be lions, students stay up all night playing video games, young parents hide from their little kids to read novels.

What is the solution to the puzzle of enjoying the imaginary?

One solution to this puzzle might be reality light.

A useful substitute when the real success is unavailable, too risky, or too much work.

Often we experience ourselves as the main character of an imaginary event, described in a book or shown in a film.

In other words, we get transported.

But how?

Through visual effects, the pictures that we see while watching films or playing video games, through the power of the word used by authors.

They can create the illusion of running around, shooting aliens or doing tricks on a skateboard or a surfboard, that fools a part of us into thinking that we ourselves are acting.

Besides, we have information that people lack in real life.

We know what's going to happen or what the other characters think because we see them in different situations, we always follow them.

We become the main characters with their complex relationships and conflict around love, family, wealth, and status.

This fight makes the main characters take action.

And through this action, we become part of a different life, very fast and full of adventures.

Together with the main characters, we learn something new from their experiences, and together with them, we become different, better, stronger, smarter, wiser.

Together with the main character, we might suffer the loss of our dearest and nearest.

To stop the pain, we simply jump out of the sea of our imagination and return to Earth.

What can be more pleasant and exciting?
